Amazon is deploying contactless delivery service to Atlanta and Franklin Tennessee via its Amazon Scout, an electric autonomous mobile robot.

The news comes as the coronavirus continues to keep consumers home and social distancing to avoid infection.

In a blog post, Amazon said its Scout is helping meet increased customer demand and that the new areas for deployment allows the opportunity to have the robots work in different climates than California, where it was deployed last year.

The robots feature six wheels and a storage compartment, walk at a human's pace and are able to navigate other walkers and hurdles, according to a New York Post report.
