Amazon has refunded a $4,200 Dum-Dums lollipop order mistakenly placed by a young lollipop fan in the U.K.

The Kentucky young man made the order on his mom's phone via her Amazon account, according to a report at The Guardian.

Once discovered, the mom of Liam LaFavers, Holly LaFavers, tried to cancel delivery but 22 cases, of 30 ordered, had already been delivered.

Initially her efforts to get a refund from Amazon didn't go well so she hit up Facebook to let friends know about the situation and tried selling the boxes for the original cost of $130.

Reaction came fast and furious as people began purchasing and distributing the boxes.

In response to her post, LaFavers' friends, family and strangers helped her distribute the boxes and, within two hours, every box was purchased, she told Good Morning America. Candy buyers included local banks and doctor's offices, as well as a chiropractor.

"My friends and family in Somerset truly stepped up … and they were able to help," LaFavers she shared during an episode of Good Morning America, according to the news report.

Media involvement, specifically reach outs to Amazon about the order, resulted in Amazon refunding the cost.

"We're glad we were able to work directly with this customer to turn a sticky situation into something sweet," Amazon told People magazine in a statement.
