Amazon opening physical storefront in San Diego come summer

Amazon getting second brick-and-mortar location ready to open this summer.

Just about six months after opening its first brick-and-mortar book store Amazon is reportedly prepping its second physical location slated for the Westfield UTC mall in San Diego, California.

A note posted in a store window claims the store will be named Amazon Books, according to a San Diego Union Tribune report, and will open this summer.

"We are excited to be bringing Amazon Books to the University Towne Center Mall in San Diego and we are currently hiring store managers and associates," Sarah Gelman, Amazon spokesperson, told the Tribune. "Stay tuned for additional details down the road."

Amazon opened its first physical location last November featuring 5,500 square feet of space in University Village, a Seattle mall.

Neighboring retailers will be Apple and a Tesla retail location.
