Amazon prepping Whole Foods pick-up service, claims report

April 2, 2018

Amazon is reportedly getting a product pick-up service strategy in place for its Whole Foods Market locations, according to a Motley Fool report.

The news comes as retailers and grocers are scrambling to lure shoppers with a myriad of delivery options and as Amazon, Target and Walmart battle to be the grocery/shopping center of choice. Amazon most recently debuted two-hour delivery from Whole Foods via its Prime Now app in four U.S. markets.

This new Amazon move, however, features a twist: the pickup location would be available to third-party retailers as well, claims the report, which cites a job listing as its source. The ad is for a finance manager to be involved in a "Whole Foods delivery and pick-up service on the ultra-fast Prime Now app" which would be involve a group of "marquee third-party retailers."
