Amazon Prime members now have car trunk delivery option

April 27, 2018

Amazon Prime members owning a technology compatible vehicle can now have deliveries dropped in the car trunk via Amazon's Key app and either GM's OnStar account or Volvo’s On Call account.

The Key In-Car service, according to CNN Money, is available in 37 U.S. cities. It's Amazon's latest advancement of Amazon Key, which offers in-home delivery for consumers not at home. With Key In-Car, the vehicle needs to be within the area of a delivery address and the Prime member provides data via the app such as car color, make and model for the Amazon delivery person.

But not every item can be delivered to a trunk space as there are limits on weight and size and value and it can't be a third-party vendor item.
