Amazon is boosting its average hourly starting pay for frontline warehouse workers from $18 to more than $19 which it says reflects almost a $1 billion investment.
The move comes as shoppers are gearing up holiday purchases and a year after Amazon raised pay to $18 an hour as an average starting point, according to a Wall Street Journal report.
The news comes on the heels of Amazon announcing Oct. 11-12 as the days for a second Prime Day sales event called Prime Early Access Sale for subscribers only.
