Amazon Tech Hub to hire on 300 tech professionals

The Amazon San Diego Tech Hug is expanding with the omnichannel retailer planning to create 300 new high-tech jobs ranging from software development to machine learning to digital entertainment.

The San Diego hub, according to a press release, is one of Amazon's 17 hubs across North America.

As part of the workforce expansion Amazon has opened a new 85,000-square-foot office in the University Town Center neighborhood of San Diego.

"Amazon is excited to create more tech jobs in San Diego — a city with terrific talent and a culture of innovation," said Nate Wiger, general manager of Amazon's new San Diego office, in the release. "We look forward to more than doubling our investment in the area, and hiring local talent to fill exciting roles across Amazon."
