Amazon's Prime Early Access Sale earlier this month, three months after its annual Prime Day sales event, failed to score big in terms of sales, according to Bank of America.

The two-day event, coming three months after the first event in July, brought $5.7 billion in revenue — nearly $2 billion less than the July sales days, according to a New York Post report. The first event's revenue was $7.5 billion, according to the BoA analysis.

In addition, the transaction frequency, according to commerce data firm Klover, was 30% less on the second sales event.

A Numerator study revealed the average spend per order during the most recent Prime Day event was $46.68 — down from the initial event's $60.29. The research firm had projected the second sales event could set new records when it comes to household penetration and average household spend.
