Amazon.com, celebrating its 20th year, isn't about to start pulling back in any way, shape or form. In fact Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos made a big point about just that during the recent annual shareholder's meeting.
"There's no rest. We can't rest on our laurels," he said during his presentation at the meeting, according to a Seattle Times report.
Despite its dominance in e-commerce and successful forays into other segments beyond retail, Bezos told shareholders that "it never looks like smooth seas to us."
During his presentation Bezos also heard from various protest groups, including animal rights advocates and organizations striving to make Amazon a more diverse employer. Shareholders also expressed concerns during the annual event and the topics included everything from Bezos owning the Washington Post to the company's political stances on issues such as President Donald Trump's proposed travel ban.
