Americans increasingly want stores closed on Thanksgiving

A survey reveals close to 50 percent of American consumers are in favor of retailers closing on Thanksgiving and will not be shopping on the holiday before Black Friday.

The insight comes from an online New Saint Leo University poll of 1,167 adults from Oct.11 through Oct.17, 2018. While another 4.8 percent oppose retailers being open on Thanksgiving Day, they do still intend to shop that day, according to a release on the survey.
