Apparel retailer Francesca's shuttering nearly 100 additional locations

Francesca's, an apparel retailer, will close down another 97 locations following a bankruptcy action.

Initially, after filing for Chapter 11 a week ago, the company announced it was closing 140 stores of its 700 locations, according to a CNBC report. Just about half of the closing stores are based in U.S. malls.

The retailer is considering a takeover offer from TerraMar Capital and the sale could happen by the end of January 2021, according to the report.
