Apple's highest-profile store in New York is open today after a five-month remodel.
The $6.6 million renovation began in mid-June with the goal of simplifying the design of the store's iconic glass cube by using larger, seamless pieces of glass, according to Macrumors.
According to a list of permits pulled together by ifoAppleStore, the company is also renovating part of the drainage system above the square, then repaving it when done.
Since opening in 2006, the Fifth Avenue location has become one of Apple's most profitable stores.
