Australia airport introduces touchless passenger check-in, bag drop

Avalon Airport in Victoria, Australia, has introduced touchless passenger check-in and bag drop systems using speech, gesture and eye gaze technology provided by Elenium Automation, a Melbourne-based technology provider, according to a computerweekly.com report.

Security screening has also been introduced that allows passengers to keep laptops and liquids in their bags at security checkpoints.

Elenium Automation has also been working with AWS on voice automation that allows passengers to interact with a bag drop system or a kiosk.

The technology has been installed at the Abu Dhabi airport.
