Consumer confident, the federal tax reform and technology are cited as the reasons consumers are likely to spend more this year on back-to-school shopping.
The predicted family spend should be an average of $730, with consumers in the northeast spending the most, according to the 2018 Brand Keys Back-to-School survey.
The survey predicts a 2 percent increase overall compared to last year, with the biggest increase happening in department stores.
