Being put on hold is top consumer customer service gripe

The most annoying aspect of customer service for the consumer is the act of being put on hold, according to a Clutch survey.

The second and third top frustrations are rude service and automated phone menus, respectively.

The statistics, according to a press release, indicate retailers need to think both analytically and creatively about reducing phone hold times and potentially offering alternative services such as giving customers an opportunity to schedule a more convenient call time.
