Best Buy launching pilot membership program

Electronic retailer Best Buy is launching an annual membership program, at $199.99 a year, which will provide customers with concierge tech help, device installation as well as free shipping without any purchase minimum.

The program, called Best Buy Beta, is starting out as a pilot, according to a CNN report, and will be initially available at 60 stores across six sates by the end of April.

An industry analyst told CNN the program illustrates the retailer's effort to boost customer service and serve as the leader in electronics.

The program isn't Best Buy's first membership effort. Its Total Tech Support program is now in its third year.
