BlackHawk Network snares NimbleCommerce to expand prepaid, gift card service portfolio

Prepaid and payment network payer Blackhawk Network is buying NimbleCommerce, which lets retailers manage repaid offer and gift card programs.

Prepaid and payment network payer Blackhawk Network is buying NimbleCommerce, which lets retailers managed repaid offer and gift card programs or operate a reseller program, according to a company release.

"The NimbleCommerce offer network is an exciting compliment to the Blackhawk Network ecommerce portfolio," said Talbott Roche, Blackhawk Network president. "NimbleCommerce will add to our existing offerings by providing merchants and retailers with more online distribution capabilities for gift cards and egifts, and will also provide consumers with additional prepaid brands and offers."

The acquisition will add hundreds of new distribution points encompassing media outlets, deal websites and other publishers to Blackhawk's ecommerce platform, and adds thousands of merchants, including local and regional merchants, to Blackhawk global offerings.
