British supermarket goes quiet to boost CX for autistic patrons

July 24, 2018

Supermarket Morrisons, in the United Kingdom, is lowering the lights and piping in music for one hour on Saturdays to provide a quiet hour of shopping for autistic shoppers.

The 'quiet hour,' according to a New York Times report, takes place from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and is getting kudos from the National Autistic Society. Supermarkets and retail spaces can often prove overwhelming for those with autism given noise and lighting in a typical retail location.
