California DMV installs self-serve kiosks in supermarkets

The California Department of Motor Vehicles has installed self-service kiosks in 12 Vons, Superior and Albertsons supermarkets, according to NBC Los Angeles. The kiosks, called "DMV Now," enable users to renew vehicle registrations, making the registration process faster.

Registration at the kiosks, accessible in English and Spanish, can take less than two minutes.

"DMV Now" kiosks can be found in South Los Angeles, Lancaster, Canoga Park, Tarzana, Palmdale and Simi Valley.

The California DMV wants to expand the program with as many as 40 more kiosks in 2017.
