CarrefourSA teams with Simbe to deploy autonomous robot Tally

CarrefourSA, a Turkish retailer operating over 1,200 stores, has teamed up with Simbe, a store intelligence solutions provider, to deploy Simbe's autonomous robot, Tally, in select stores.

Tally scans shelves three times a day, ensuring products are stocked and priced correctly. This frees up employee time to focus on customer service and other tasks, according to a press release that also noted a study indicating consumers are embracing stores with in-store robots.

"The number of retailers across geographies that are now leveraging Simbe's technology is a great example of the Institute of Grocery Distribution's prediction coming to fruition," Toby Pickard, retail futures senior partner at the Institute of Grocery Distribution, said in the release.

Simbe's Store Intelligence platform combines AI, computer vision and robotics to provide retailers with real-time insights into store operations. This allows retailers to improve inventory management, operations and the overall customer experience.
