One fifth, 20%, of American consumers shop on Temu, a Chinese marketplace, at least once a week and 63% shop on Chinese marketplaces at least once a week.
Those are findings from a Omnisend research report that polled 4,000 consumers across the U.S., U.K., Australia and Canada regarding online shopping behavior on global and Chinese marketplaces including Amazon, Temu and Shein.
One in five polled believe Temu will overtake Amazon as the leading e-commerce platform, according to a press release on the findings.
The data also showed that 6.4% consumers trust Temu over Amazon. Temu debuted in the U.S. e-commerce space just about two years ago. The survey was commissioned by Omnisend and conducted by Cint in April 2024.
