Citi Retail study reveals shopper savings in play this season

December 26, 2017

A nationwide study from Citi Retail Services reveals more than two thirds of U.S. consumers who participate in a rewards program expect to save about $149 this holiday season, and one in three expect to save $200 or more.

The survey also reported loyalty programs are very effective, with 86 percent of customers saying they are more loyal to the brands where they participate in rewards programs, according to a press release.

"In a world where everyone is talking about immediate gratification and flash sales, customers are taking proactive means to plan out their spending and stretch their budgets in a strategic way," said Leslie McNamara, managing director, business and market development for Citi Retail Services, in the release.
