High-end accessories retailer Coach has launched a "Coach Airways" retail store housed in a converted Boeing 747 at the Freeport A'Famosa Outlet in Malacca, Malaysia.
The airplane is a 1981 747-230B aircraft and is it's first of a kind, according to a press release.
It took just over two years to complete the store which has a length of 231 feet and 10 inches and a wingspan of 195 feet.
"Since the opening of Freeport A'Famosa, we have always strived to create various innovative experiences for all our visitors. This latest addition adds a feather to our cap to offer Malaysians and tourists a fun and immersive shopping experience where they can explore the cockpit, passenger and lounge cabins whilst browsing the collections from Coach," Datuk Julian Lau, director of Freeport A'Famosa Outlet, said in the release.
The spacious layout provides a memorable shopping environment reminiscent of the golden age of air travel when luxury and elegance were emphasized, according to the release. When entering the store shoppers receive an air ticket to emulate the air travel experience. The store's retail "cabins" offer a curated selection of all-gender bags and travel accessories.
