Coca-Cola has partnered with Sandstar, a vending technology provider, to launch the Coca-Cola Smart Lounge, a digital, interactive shopping experience that collects data from consumers' shopping behaviors throughout their journey in each section of store, according to a press release.
The Coca-Cola Smart Lounge is a recreational space where shoppers can enjoy beverages, coffee, and interactive entertainments in different sectors in the space.
With computer vision technology and artificial intelligence, SandStar provides a customized solution to increase operational efficiency and to offer an upgraded shopping experience.
By deploying a matrix of AI cameras within each location, the solution can accurately identify each shopper's shopping behaviors, shopping routes, time spent in lounge, space distribution of areas visited and interactions, with real-time analytical results displayed on a tracking dashboard.
The cameras collect information on people's movements and merchandise only, and not the person's facial features.
The tracking dashboard displays in real time the hourly, daily or recent number of shoppers, their average length of stay, in-store traffic distribution, etc.
By analyzing data on merchandise display, combination and promotion, operators can optimize their sales strategy and discover more growth opportunities.
