Coldwater Creek has launched a new mobile website that supports the iPhone and Android platforms. The new mobile website is an optimized version of Coldwater Creek's e-commerce site that allows for easy viewing and navigation from these mobile devices. Coldwater Creek is one of the first women's apparel companies to launch a mobile website.
Founded in 1984, and headquartered in Sandpoint, Idaho, Coldwater Creek is a leading specialty retailer of women's apparel, gifts, jewelry and accessories. The company sells its merchandise through more than 350 premium retail stores across the country, online and through its catalogs. Coldwater Creek's mission is to become the premier specialty retailer for women 35 years of age and older in the United States by offering its customers a compelling merchandise assortment with superior customer service.
Utilizing resized and reformatted versions of the pages of the brand's e-commerce site, coldwatercreek.com, the new mobile website allows the user to see each page, in full, on the screen of an iPhone or Android, eliminating the need to scroll or zoom. Navigation throughout the shopping experience has been optimized for touchscreen devices.
"We are committed to delivering an exceptional brand experience that reflects our customers' lifestyle, so we are excited to be adding this kind of technology into our multi-channel retail mix," said Dan Moen, senior vice president, marketing and chief information officer of Coldwater Creek. "Since the launch, we have already seen a significant increase in page views per site visit from mobile phones. We believe this can be directly attributed to the improved shopping experience."
