Consumers are shopping early for holiday gifts

Nearly half of consumers, 45%, expect to start shopping for holiday gifts before November and 25% already started in September.

But many consumers intend to wait until later in the season, splurging on Black Friday and awaiting last-minute deals, according to a Profitero survey that polled 1,000 U.S. consumers on holiday shopping plans.

About 11% of those polled expect to wait until December to shop, and another 18% aren't sure they'll do holiday shopping this year, according to a blog on the survey findings.
