Costco plans to open a warehouse in West Seneca, in Buffalo, New York on a site that's been vacant for nearly four decades.

The location is the former Seneca Mall site, according to a WIVB news report.

"West Seneca has waited for this for decades," West Seneca Town Supervisor Gary Dickson shared on social media, according to the news outlet. "I appreciate everyone's patience, but there is still a lot of work to do."

The supervisor said he's happy Costco is coming to the location as it's popular and will bring jobs, sales tax revenue and property tax revenue.

The West Seneca planning board is expected to discuss the project in August.
