Costco has raised pay for most of its hourly workers.
The wholesaler is increasing pay by $1, to $30.20 for a top scale employee's first year and an additional $1 the next two years, according to a Reuters report that cited an internal company memo.
The news came a day before the company settled a union negotiation that averted a potential strike.
For employees who make less than the top scale there will be a pay raise of 50 cents, which brings the company's lowest starting pay to $20 an hour.
