Drugstore powerhouse, CVS, is expanding its CarePass membership nationwide.
The move comes just about a year since the program was launched in 2018 and piloted in three markets, according to a CNBC report. The membership program lets customers pay $48 a year or $5 a month for free delivery on orders and it comes with a monthly $10 coupon and access to a hotline for pharmacy questions. An evaluation of usage reveals 20% of program users are millennials, noted the report.
The news also comes as CVS gears up to compete with new pharmacy player, Amazon, which launched its own online pharmacy, PillPack.
