Delta taps Eric Phillips as 1st digital leader

Eric Phillips has been named as Delta Airline's first-ever chief digital officer.

The news comes as airlines are battling for consumers and focusing on customer interaction.

Phillips, who also will serve as a senior vice president, will lead efforts to enhance the airline's customer interaction via digital tools and channels, according to an Aviation Source report.

Phillips has been with Delta for 24 years and prior to his new role served as SVP, airport customer service, cargo operations, GSE and Global Clean.
