Dollar General launching self-checkout store pilot

Dollar General, as part of its Fast Track initiative, plans to launch a store pilot in which the stores will be entirely self check-out.

The retailer is already testing the technology at more than 8,000 stores, according to a Go Banking Rates report.

The completely self check-out pilot will involve about 200 stores this year, according to Jeff Owen, the retailer's COO, who said the option for self check-out will also be expanded to 11,000 locations by year's end.
