DoorDash delivery partnership pays off for Chipotle

The national delivery partnership between Chipotle Mexican Grill and DoorDash is proving to be a winning, and lucrative, strategy.

The restaurant has seen a 667 percent spike in weekly delivery orders since debuting the new delivery option which makes deliveries at more than 1,500 locations nationwide.

One reason for the huge success may be the offer from Chipotle to provide free delivery on $10-plus Chipotle orders the first week of May, which included the annual Cinco de Mayo celebration.

According to the release the average DoorDash delivery time, from order to drop off, is 34 minutes with Chicago, Dallas and Denver seeing the most delivery activity.
