The largest independent retailer in East Anglia, East of England Co-operative Society, has announced its plans for implementation of category management solutions from Galleria, geared to optimizing the retailer's merchandising strategy and operations.
East of England Co-operative Society operates 135 grocery stores in the U.K., stocking locally sourced products from 130 different suppliers.
In June 2013, the Co-op began a pilot with Galleria RTS, a provider of customer-focused category planning, automation and optimization solutions. According to the companies, the initial stages of the pilot are now complete and the implementation will be rolled out across the entire chain.
“Galleria offers us a complete, end-to-end, single-source solution to automate our merchandising processes across our entire estate. These enhancements will embolden both our customer and community focus, which remains as important today as it was 140 years ago,” said John Dixey, IT development controller at East of England Co-op.
Through the deployment of the Galleria solution, East of England Co-operative said it is able to automate the production of store-specific planograms centered on strategically optimized assortments across ambient and fresh categories, reinforcing their customer-centric merchandising strategy across numerous categories.
