Economy indicators remain on a healthy path for the most part

Most economic stats indicate steady growth ahead.

The latest economic report is optimistic with regard to current consumer spending, though manufacturing insight isn’t as rosy.

Consumer spending increased on a healthy clip in the past two months, though factory production faltered, reports Reuters.

Retail sales remain on the upward trend, according to Commerce Department data, which does not include sales related to cars, gas, food services or building materials.

However, the Federal Reserve revealed new figures that indicate manufacturing output dipped further than economists expected, with a .5 percent decrease.

"Today's data are positive news for final demand in the third quarter and should give the Fed more confidence in the spending outlook," Laura Rosner, an economist at BNP Paribas in New York, told Reutersregarding retail sales figures.
