Food Lion promotion encourages shoppers to stock up on private brands

In-Store Marketer: Food Lion staged an incentive this month enticing shoppers to stock up on private label products. From May 27 to June 23, the chain offered its MVP loyalty cardholders a $1 coupon for every four private label SKUs they bought in a single trip. Shoppers could earn up to $10 in coupons, which expired two weeks after the issue date.

The chain introduced the "Private Brand Super Sale" event on the cover of the May 27 circular along with sales on various SKUs. In-store support included shelf danglers throughout the store.
