Gap taps Richard Dickson as CEO

Gap has hired on Richard Dickson, the former CEO and president of Mattel, as its new CEO.

The hiring takes place just a about a year since Gap's former CEO, Sonia Syngal, left the company, according to a CNN report.

Dickson, who takes the CEO role as of Aug. 22, had been with Mattel for two decades and played a key role in reviving the Barbie brand.
