Google is making it easier for consumers to find specific products by enhancing its search capabilities.
The company has launched "multisearch" for U.S. users in its mobile app that lets users combine text and images in one query, according to a CNN report. The feature was initially announced in the fall of 2021.
The consumer release is "just the start" of Google's strategy to make searching less dependent on text and more flexible for users, Liz Reid, VP of Google Search, told CNN.
The mobile app feature is accessed by tapping a camera icon on the right side of the search bar that loads Google Lens. Users can upload or take a picture, hit the "plus" sign available and add text as well as the photo to conduct a search query.
