H&M to open in South America

South America will welcome its first H&M clothing store next year, as the retailer announced a new store opening in Santiago de Chile, Chile.

The store will be a full concept flagship at the Costanera Center shopping mall, with a grand opening slated for the first half of 2013, the announcement said.

"We are very excited to announce the opening of the first H&M store in South America," said H&M CEO Karl Johan Persson. "It is our first step into the Southern hemisphere, and we see great potential for further expansion in this fashion conscious region. We look forward to bringing fashion and quality at the best price to the Chilean customers."
