Ikea kiosk helps shoppers find the perfect mattress

Ikea's Upptäcka kiosk allows customers to find the perfect mattress based on their sleeping patterns, according to an Insight DIY report.

The Upptäcka also serves lets users search for products, create shopping lists and plan product combinations.

"This initiative supports IKEA's vision of creating a better everyday life for many people," Parag Parekh, CDO for IKEA retail, stated in an earlier news report on the kiosk technology.

Upptäcka's comfort guide asks questions about the customer's sleeping position, body shape, size and other factors that would help it determine the best mattress for the individual.

"In a year when we focus on enabling our customers to improve sleep, we wanted to offer them even more convenience in finding that perfect mix of products that suits those needs," Parekh told Insight DIY. "We keep hearing from our store visitors that the new kiosks are making their shopping experience more pleasant and allowing them to find the right information faster, which is what we were hoping to achieve."
