Intuit's GoPayment for iPads available through Apple App Store

Intuit Inc. announced that its GoPayment mobile point-of-sale application optimized for the iPad is now available through Apple's App Store. The version optimized for the iPad provides users with a new layout that leverages the iPad's larger screen, high-resolution display and multitouch interface.

The new version is compatible with the GoPayment credit card reader available through Intuit. The reader lets merchants swipe credit cards instead of entering credit card data manually.

"We definitely see iPad as a natural complement to our existing point-of-sale retail store solutions as more people look to process payments wherever they are - in a store, at an event or even at home," said Chris Hylen, vice president and general manager of Intuit's Payment Solutions division.
