JCPenney puts greeters in place in pilot customer service move

October 18, 2016

Taking a page from Wal-Mart's customer service playbook, JC Penney is reportedly placing greeters at store entrances.

Employees are being put in the role for two hours of their shift, according to a New York Post report, and the move is reportedly a pilot effort being tested in northeast store locations. Greeters are at store doorways from noon to 2 p.m, which are viewed as "power hours" for the retailer's store traffic.
