JCPenney slashing jobs, closing stores

As it begins to emerge from its Chapter 11 process begun in May, beleaguered retailer JCPenney is reportedly getting ready to cut 1,000 jobs and close 152 locations.

The job cuts will be on the corporate and field management side of the business, as well as international, according to a New York Post report.
