Jewel-Osco promotes a top leader to retail operations chief

Mike Withers, Jewel-Osco president, is taking on a new role after being promoted to executive vice president of retail operations for the company's parent, Albertsons Co. Jewel-Osco is Chicago's largest grocery store chain.

Just who will fill Wither's president role is unknown at this point, according to the Chicago Tribune. The 57 year-old Withers started out as a clerk for Albertson's in Boise, Idaho and his new job brings him back to the parent company's corporate offices in Boise.
