Amazon's cashierless technology, called Just Walk Out, will be part of two Whole Foods Market stores opening in 2022.

The technology is already in play in many Amazon retail locations including its Fresh grocery stores and Go convenience stores, according to a CNBC report.

One store will be in Washington, D.C. and the other in Sherman Oaks, California, according to an Amazon blog post.

With Just Walk Out consumers can skip the checking out process by using an app or Amazon credit card or debit card account.

"These locations will employ a comparable number of team members as existing Whole Foods Markets stores of similar sizes," Amazon stated in the blog post. "With Just Walk Out-enabled Whole Foods Market stores, how team members in the store spend their time is simply shifting, allowing them to spend even more time interacting with customers and delivering a great shopping experience."
