Kamal Osman Jamjoom upgrades Oracle retail applications to support growth

July 10, 2011

In a move intended to improve merchandise management across its franchise and private label brands, Middle East retail group Kamal Osman Jamjoom has upgraded its Oracle retail applications and technology, according to a press release from Oracle. The upgrade involves Oracle Retail Merchandising System, Oracle Retail Sales Audit, Oracle Retail Price Management, Oracle Retail Data Warehouse, Oracle Retail Warehouse Management System and Oracle Retail Allocation functions.

KOJ first implemented Oracle Retail and Oracle E-Business Suite applications in 2006; with the upgrade, the retail chain hopes to better coordinate merchandise operations across the 500-store KOJ chain.

"We are now looking to drive additional value from our new systems that will deliver our business initiatives and strengthen our position in this dynamic market," said Thameem Rizvon, CIO at Kamal Osman Jamjoom.

The company reports that its real time inventory management system provides timely, accurate data resulting in stock accuracy levels averaging 99.99 percent for online inventory and 98.5 percent for store inventory. In addition, pricing changes can be managed quickly and efficiently, even within franchise brands bebe, Ulla Popken, List and Neal's Yard Remedies. Finance operations are streamlined as well, with a reduction in payroll processing time from five hours to 11 minutes for the Saudi Arabian payroll and from two hours to five minutes for the UAE payroll.

"The team at Kamal Osman Jamjoom has remained committed to improving the organisation's ability to manage the business and deliver the quality service and products that customers expect," said Will O'Brien, vice president EMEA at Oracle Retail. "We are delighted to have extended our relationship to help Kamal Osman Jamjoom maintain its focus on long-term growth and market leadership."
