Kroger loyalty program offers free wireless minutes

Grocery chain Kroger has announced a clever new wrinkle to its loyalty program. It is now giving shoppers free minutes on its wireless phone service, i-wireless, as a reward for making purchases.

The i-wireless program is offered exclusively in Kroger stores, and offers monthly rate plans or pay-as-you-go. Shoppers utilizing the scheme will receive 20 minutes of wireless airtime for every $100 spent in the store. According to a press release, customers receive text messages to notify them when minutes have been added to their accounts.
