Kroger shuttering over 50 stores due to underperformance

Kroger, which operates more than 1,200 stores, plans to close 60 that are deemed under performing.

The news was announced during an earning call last week, according to a New York Post report.

The store closures come on the heels of Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen resigning in March.

Kroger did not provide insight on store locations to be shuttered, according to the news outlet.
