Supermarket chain Kroger is reportedly testing 24-hour service in a small pilot program.
The pilot is running in one Cincinnati, Ohio, location and five Indiana stores, according to a report from The Street that cited a Cincinnati Enquirer news report.
Kroger stores typically open at 6 a.m. and close between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m.
"We are always looking for more ways to provide our customers with fast and convenient ways to shop – both in stores and online," Kroger said in a statement to the Cincinnati Enquirer. "The small pilot program revisiting stores open 24 hours a day is one more example of the ways we are working to better serve our customers"
Self-service is no longer just about convenience. It’s becoming a powerful way to increase sales, reduce costs and reach customers in new places — and you can see what’s next at the Automated Retail & Kiosk Innovation Show, Dec. 14-16 in Miami Beach.
