Not every consumer jumps online to buy that last minute gift.
In fact, a Netsertive consumer survey reveals that while shoppers may do online research they're most likely to hit the local retailer for the last-minute purchase.
The 2018 Local Consumer Survey polled over 500 U.S. consumers to better understand purchasing decisions.
The research, according to a press release, reveals that despite the increasing availability of same-day and one-day delivery, 43 percent hit the local retailer when needing a last-minute gift, and that 42 percent hit the local retailer when needing a product within two to three days.
"Consumers today are entering businesses' digital door before entering their physical one," said Brendan Morrissey, CEO and co-founder of Netsertive, in the release. "These survey findings validate that consumers are still relying heavily on local stores, especially for considered purchases."
