Retailer L.L. Bean is increasing its U.S. retail footprint this year with four store openings as part of an omnichannel growth strategy.
The company has made a $50 million investment to reimagine its Freeport, Maine, flagship campus, enhancing the customer experience and strengthening community engagement, according to a press release.

Additionally, L.L.Bean has already announced it is planning retail expansion in the Southeast and Midwest in 2025 in an effort to reach more customers in more geographies, according to a press release.
In 2023, L.L.Bean opened two stores in the U.S., while its Canadian licensing and operating partner, Jaytex Group, opened the brand's first two stores in Quebec.
"Our four 2024 store openings represent a significant step forward in our commitment to making L.L.Bean's exceptional outdoor gear, apparel and footwear accessible to a broader audience," Greg Elder, L.L.Bean chief retail officer, said in the release. "As we continue to expand our retail footprint beyond New England, we are eager to strengthen our connection with customers and communities across the country, enabling more people to experience the restorative power of time outside."
